Across the border from Victoria Falls, Botswana delivers some of the densest wildlife concentrations in Africa — and you can be in Chobe National Park within ninety minutes of your Victoria Falls hotel.
Where you will go
- Chobe National Park — the riverfront section is the highlight, with elephant herds in the hundreds, hippo, buffalo and superb birdlife, seen from both boat and vehicle.
- Kasane — the gateway town, worth an overnight if you want a dawn game drive rather than a day trip.
- Savuti and Linyanti — deeper into the park for those with more time, known for predator activity.
- Okavango Delta — a fly-in extension for travellers building a longer Botswana leg.
When to come
May to October is the dry season and the classic time: wildlife concentrates on the river, the bush thins out, and sightings are reliable. November to April brings the rains, greener landscapes, newborn animals and excellent birding, with game more spread out.
Practical notes
Day trips cross at Kazungula and return the same evening; our guide handles the border formalities with you. Bring your passport with blank pages. Botswana park fees are payable in addition to the tour price, and we confirm the current rate when you book.
